Driving Instructor - (Whatcom, Skagit, King, and Snohomish Counties, WA)

Bal Driving School has been serving the Washington community since 2008. We teach teens and adults how to drive safely and confidently. We take pride in preparing new drivers with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed on the road.

We have multiple locations in Bellingham, Lynnwood, and Mount Vernon, and we operate a DOL-approved testing center. Our courses focus on practical driving skills, defensive driving, and preparation for the final road test.

We are looking for experienced, licensed driving instructors in Washington state. No prior experience? No problem—we offer comprehensive training for the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Pay: $26–$35 per hour, based on experience

Training Pay: $22 per hour

Our courses focus on practical driving skills, safety, and final road test preparation. We take pride in preparing new drivers with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed on the road.

Instructor Job Description

  • Provide one-on-one, in-car instruction to teen and adult drivers.

  • Teach live, instructor-led Driver’s Ed classes through Zoom and in person.

  • Coordinate your schedule with management and maintain your agreed availability.

Preferred Background

Police, fire, first responders, military, and teachers are highly valued, but not required. We provide 100 hours of state-mandated training, depending on your experience level.

Instructor Required Qualifications

  • Friendly, enthusiastic and a team-player.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED

  • Experience: 21 years old with five years of licensed driving experience

  • Clean Record: Valid WA state driver's license with a clean record (No suspensions in the past two years)

  • Background Check: Pass a state/federal background check

  • Must provide a copy of driving record.

  • Availability: Must be available for afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.

Instructor Preferred Qualifications

  • Multiple language fluency/familiarity a huge plus. Especially Spanish

  • Full-time or Part Time and must be available afternoon, evenings, weekends.

  • Experience giving instruction.

  • Paid Training

  • Bonuses on successful referrals for either customers or new hires

  • $500 retention bonus after completing three months of employment, subject to eligibility requirements.

Work Location

  • In person: Bellingham, Lynnwood, and Mount Vernon

  • Relocation to the area before starting (preferred)
